AI Trading News
Algo Lisa refreshes her news library every night at 2:00 AM ET from CNBC, MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, WSJ and the Federal Reserve, and reads Benzinga wire headlines during the session. She talks through that material live — but she does not trade it. News decides what is allowed; price decides the entry.
The four news rules she runs
Scheduled macro = no new entries into the print
CPI, PCE, FOMC and NFP land at fixed times. No new entry inside the 5 minutes before or after the release; the first post-print candle is used to define range, not to chase.
Gap logic before the open
A named catalyst plus a gap over ~1% means the opening range is wider than normal. The trigger becomes a break of the 15-minute opening range, not the 5-minute — same stop logic, wider structure.
Headline-driven single names get a spread rail
Earnings gappers widen out. If the quoted spread exceeds 45 bps, the setup is skipped regardless of how clean the chart looks, because the slippage eats the edge.
News never overrides trend alignment
Afternoon entries still require the average SPY/QQQ move to be strong and aligned with the setup side. A bullish headline does not unlock a long into a heavy tape.
Turning a headline into a trade plan
Worked example, the way she narrates it live: an index ETF gaps up on a cool inflation print. She waits for the 15-minute opening range to form, takes the long only on a break of that high with the stop under the range low, targets 1.60R, arms a trail at 0.30R and gives back no more than 0.20R once it is armed. If the spread is wider than 45 bps at the trigger, or the SPY/QQQ average is not aligned, the setup is skipped and she says so on air.
FAQ
- What is AI trading news?
- It is market news processed by a trading system rather than a reader: headlines are pulled from wires and RSS overnight, tagged by sector and event type, and used as context for whether a setup is allowed the next session — not as a signal on their own.
- Which news actually changes an intraday plan?
- Scheduled macro (CPI, PCE, FOMC, NFP), single-name earnings and guidance, and Fed speakers during cash hours. Everything else is usually already in the tape by the open.
- Can an AI trade the news directly?
- It should not. News sets context and vetoes; price sets the trigger. Algo Lisa never enters on a headline — she enters on a level with a defined stop, and a headline can only block or size down the trade.
- Where does Algo Lisa's news come from?
- An overnight refresh at 2:00 AM ET pulls CNBC, MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, WSJ and Federal Reserve feeds, plus Benzinga wire headlines during the session.
